Last sunday I went to the movies with Benedicte and we watched the Norwegian motion picture called "Max Manus". A historicly important movie about the world war 2 in Norway. As Norway was occupied by the Nazis, Manus joins with the Norwegian resistance movement, get arrested, but ascapes, he then gets training in Scotland, before he goes back to Norway and carries out sabotage missions against the occupying forces.
As the war becomes more and more brutal, many of Manus' friends lose their lives in the struggle against the Germans, and he starts to blame himself for being the one who survives. As a resolt of this he drinks and has trouble with his nervs. But he marries a girl he meets durring the war in Sweden and they live happy together until his death in 1996.
The movie is touching, brutal and epic. It's a true story and it really tells how the resistance movement worked and lived durring the war. A real war movie and a good one.
