My first week

Wow. That's gotta be my first word. Wow. Things are so different here, well, at least for me. How things are organised are very different. First of all, you have one person to speak to about one thing, so you have a houndred people you can speak to and I have no clue who to talk to for what! But after my late orientation I figured out who I can email to find out! My student adviser. Though he can help direct me to the right person, I do wish I could have you know, sent me an welcoming email or something similar to prepare me for this shock. Everything in my head was messy, it's starting to tidy up, but there are still some messieness..

I had enrolment preperation before I had oritation, which was not a good idea. I learnt somethings new in emrolment preperation, but i guess I would have had more use of it if I knew more and had had my orientation. After that class we were to make our own timetables. I had to choose two units per semester that were 100-level and had no prerequisites, then have three times lessons per unit and put it into a timetable only to figure out that most of the tetorials were full. I finished the timetable, a pretty good one, if you ask me, and got one person to look it over then send me to a place where there were no people and then send me to the department of psychology where I had to wait for someone to look over my timetable, sign it and tell me to enrol, though most classes might be full. I went and enroled for everything, but register in classes was totaly different as there were classes that I am required to have, but are all full! How can that happen???
After a lot of back and forth I now have a almost complete schedual.

At my building we had a housemeeting last week, just to get clear on all the rules and responsebilities. All the people living in the Macquarie Parklands, as it's called, are from the U.S. and they're studying abroad, which is a totally different program then I have. I'm a freshman and they are all juniors, sophmores and seniors. They are all just here for one semester and the study aboad people have their own group with social things to do. Like last week, my whole building were going on a 80s cruise around Sydeny Hourbour, while I had to stay at home and be alone in the building. So far these are the only people I know, so that was very idiotic in my eyes. But I have to live with it and I made the best of having the appartment all by my self!

I've gotten my student ID card, which I look horrible in, I dont even want to talk about it. I met this guy Sam, from south Korea, who helpt me a little around the campus. And I had to correct my name with the Student Enquiery Services.

This weekend, I got internet, a little usb pen modem and prepaid 12 GB to supposedly last a year. It's good to be online again, but I have to be good and log out after I'm done, so that I'll not use my GB for nothing. Very different. I bought "Cadet Kelly" which I watched this weekend, and just relaxed with my computer.

I had my very first lecture yesterday in Education: The Psychological Context. It wasn't as scary as I thought, but still overwhelming. Today was the second lecture, an actual one, and that was scarier, but I made it through!
At five I have a lecture in Reading Contemporary Music and at six I have an other lecture in Introductory Statistics.
After the lectures I'll be going to the theater watching "He's just not that into you".
