First lecture week

I think I should start by telling you my subjects. I have Education: The Psychological Context,Reading Contemporary Music, Introductory Statistics and Introduction To Psychology 1.
Having Contemporary Music was really fun! We listned to some music and the students were suppose to write down the name of the song and artist. I almost didnt know any of the songs. Old stuff, beach boys, the white strips, radiohead... But in all that I heard a familiar song, I thought to my self, no I can't be it, can it? And then the lyrics started; "Du är en saga för god för att vara sann, det är en saga i sig att vi funnit varan, vi kunde lika gärna aldrig någonsin mötts.." I was the only one who knew that was Lisa Ekdahl with "Vem vet", which was so cool! I even got to answer that and they all got really impressed!

That hour was really fun, and good was that, ‘cause next came Introductory Statistics, which was horrible. The lecturer rushed through the whole thing, without me even able to let things sink in. She kept on pushing out information, witch just made me feel inadequate and confused. She talked of things I did not know, words I did not know and said stuff that I really needed to digest before going any further! A woman from the numeracy center spoke of workshops they would have throughout the semester relating to what the lecture was about, so my hopes are that I will go to these and maybe get more out of this unit from that. Or I have to switch to full year unit, talking "stat" over a year, instead of one semester.
I was glad to finally get out of that theatre and go to the movies. Watching "He's just not that into you" made me relax. An entertaining film. Though not as good as the book, I might add. If you haven’t read the book, I recommend you do it promptly! It’s a very good, funny book. A page-turner if you ask me!
Wednesday I had my first Introduction to psychology, which was interesting. I am here doing a bachelor of science – psychology and I’m glad that so far no problems in that area First was some introduction to the course and school , then a good lecture in history of psychology. Did you know it has its roots in philosophy? Very interesting!
After lecture, my flatmates and I went to the Ranch, our local bar/pub. We had some fun, though one of the bartenders kept asking me why I was giving him shit when he couldn’t make a classical drink that I wanted. Got me a little upset, but Amanda calmed me down and I got a “Malibu and pineapple” instead. After a while I got bored and went home.
For the weekend I went to Canberra, Queanbeyan and Crookwell with Dion. Hadn’t seen him in two weeks, so it was good to see him. I met Nate, a mate from the YHA, Josh and Hannah, had a couple of drinks and talked until Dion and I decided it was time to go back to Crookwell. I got to see his family again and got a really nice baked dinner on Saturday with pumpkin, which I love, by the way!
I spent the weekend reading, sunbathing and hanging out with Dion and his family. I got slightly sunburnt on my thigh, but at least it doesn’t hurt.
